The Transcription page is where a recorded call becomes actionable. It combines a full video player and searchable transcript on the left with a rich set of tabs on the right — Notes, CRM Fields, Email, Tasks, and Insights — so you can review, edit, and sync everything from a single screen.

Page Layout

The Transcription page is split into two panels:
  • Left panel — video player, complete transcript, and keyword search.
  • Right panel — tabbed workspace with Notes, CRM Fields, Email, Tasks, and Insights.
Click any word in the transcript to jump the video to that exact moment. Use the search box on the left to find a specific term or phrase within the transcript.

Notes

The Notes tab shows an AI-generated summary of the call, structured according to your configured Notes Template. If the contact exists in your CRM, notes are automatically synced there the moment they’re generated — and any edits you make sync back instantly.
1

Review the generated notes

Open the Notes tab on the right panel to see the AI summary organised by your template’s sections.
2

Edit as needed

Click into any section to make changes. Edits are saved automatically and sync to the CRM without any additional action.
3

Switch templates

Use the template dropdown on the Notes tab to apply a different Notes Template. The notes update to reflect the new structure.
4

Regenerate notes

Click Recalculate Notes to regenerate the summary using the currently selected template. Use this after switching templates or if you want a fresh generation.
Set your default Notes Template in Settings → Meeting Types so notes are always generated in the right format for each kind of call — discovery, demo, QBR, and so on.

Notes language

The language used for notes and follow-up emails is configured per Meeting Type in Settings → Meeting Types → Languages. Transcription language is detected automatically from the call audio. Supported transcription languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Finnish, and Hebrew. Hebrew is supported for transcription only — see Settings → Meeting Types → Languages for the languages available for generated notes and emails.

CRM Fields

The CRM Fields tab shows all the data points Piper has extracted from the call and mapped to your Deal, Contact, and Company records. Review proposed updates before they’re sent to your CRM — or enable AutoSync to push them automatically.
1

Open the CRM Fields tab

Click CRM Fields in the right panel.
2

Review proposed updates

Piper lists each extracted field alongside its proposed new value. Check each one for accuracy.
3

Edit before sending

Click any field value to edit it before it’s pushed to your CRM.
4

Send updates

Click Send All Fields to push every update at once, or use the individual Send and Reject buttons next to each field to approve or discard them one by one.

Insights

The Insights tab surfaces the most important signals Piper detected in the call — pain points raised, budget signals mentioned, next steps discussed, and more.
  • Click the text box of any insight to see the exact section of the transcript where it was captured.
  • From that transcript section, click any word to jump the video to that moment for full context.
Use Insights to quickly identify the most important moments in a long call without watching the entire recording.

Follow-up Email

The Email tab generates a ready-to-send follow-up email based on your configured Email Template. You can customise it, swap templates, or send it directly from Piper.
1

Review the draft email

Open the Email tab to see the auto-generated subject line and body.
2

Swap the template (optional)

Use the template selector to choose a different Email Template. The email refreshes instantly with the new format.
3

Edit the subject and body

Click directly into the subject line or body to make any changes before sending.
4

Regenerate if needed

Click Rewrite to have Piper regenerate the email from scratch using the selected template.
5

Send the email

Click Send via Gmail or Send via Outlook to deliver the email directly from your connected inbox without leaving Piper.

Tasks

The Tasks tab shows every action item Piper extracted from the call. Each task includes a title, owner, description, due date, priority level, and links to related CRM records. Tasks also appear on the main Tasks page. See the Tasks documentation for full details on editing, syncing to CRM, and managing tasks across all your calls.

Sharing, Downloading, and Deleting

Share externally

To share the recording with someone outside your organisation:
1

Open sharing options

Click the sharing controls in the top-right corner of the Transcription page.
2

Generate an external link

Select External Link to create a shareable URL. External viewers can see the video and transcript but not internal notes, scorecards, CRM fields, or the follow-up email.

Download and copy

Use the three-dot menu (⋯) next to the meeting title to:
  • Download the video or transcript file.
  • Copy notes to your clipboard.
  • Copy transcript to your clipboard.
  • Copy follow-up email to your clipboard.

Delete the recording

Deleting a transcription permanently removes the recording, transcript, notes, and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
Click the three dots (⋯) in the upper-right corner of the page, then select Delete Transcription and confirm.
