MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect directly to Piper’s data. Unlike Piper’s other integrations, MCP isn’t configured inside Piper — you add Piper as an MCP server inside your AI tool (Claude, ChatGPT, or any other MCP-compatible client), then authorize it with your Piper account. Once connected, you can ask your AI assistant about your calls, deals, and contacts without leaving the tool you’re already working in.
MCP access is read-only. Connected AI assistants can look up and read your calls, deals, contacts, and related data, but cannot make changes in Piper on your behalf.

Prerequisites

  • A Piper account signed in with your Google or Microsoft work account
  • An AI assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth (for example Claude or ChatGPT)

Piper’s MCP Server

You can find this URL anytime under Settings → Integrations → MCP & API Access inside Piper.

Connect Claude

1

Open Connector settings

In Claude, go to Settings → Connectors and choose to add a custom connector.
2

Add Piper's server URL

Paste https://mcp.piperai.com/mcp and confirm.
3

Authorize with your Piper account

Claude opens a Piper sign-in screen. Choose Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft using your Piper work account, then approve access.
Claude’s connector menus are updated from time to time — if the steps above don’t match what you see, check Anthropic’s own documentation for the current path to adding a custom connector.

Connect ChatGPT

1

Open Connector settings

In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Connectors and choose to add a custom connector.
2

Add Piper's server URL

Paste https://mcp.piperai.com/mcp and confirm.
3

Authorize with your Piper account

ChatGPT opens a Piper sign-in screen. Choose Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft using your Piper work account, then approve access.
ChatGPT’s connector menus are updated from time to time — if the steps above don’t match what you see, check OpenAI’s own documentation for the current path to adding a custom connector.

Connect Other MCP Clients

Most MCP-compatible tools (for example Cursor or Windsurf) let you add a remote server by URL from their MCP or connector settings. Add https://mcp.piperai.com/mcp as the server URL, and complete the OAuth sign-in prompt with your Piper account when it appears. Refer to your specific tool’s documentation for exactly where this setting lives.

What Your AI Assistant Can Access

Once connected, your AI assistant can query:
Access is scoped to your Piper team — your AI assistant only sees calls and records visible to your account, the same sharing rules that apply inside Piper itself.

Example Questions You Can Ask

  • “What calls did I have with [contact or company name] recently?”
  • “Summarize my last call about [deal name].”
  • “Show me all calls tagged ‘[tag name]’ from this quarter.”
  • “List my team’s meeting types.”

Disconnecting

To revoke an AI assistant’s access, remove the Piper connection from within your AI tool’s connector or integration settings.
